Kegiatan peneliti mengajar menjadi ajang rutin yang diselenggarakan oleh Fakultas Ilmu Sosial dan Ilmu Politik (FISIP) Universitas Jember. Salah satu agenda tersebut yaitu “A Science Talk” dengan menghadir narasumber berkompeten dibidangnya. Dalam sesi kali ini menghadirkan pembicara tunggal, Wulan Mirdayanti Zschocke, yang merupakan peneliti Centre for Human Rights, Multiculturalism and Migration (CHRM2) Universitas Jember.
Kegiatan yang diselenggarakan oleh Program Studi Ilmu Hubungan Internasional, FISIP, Universitas Jember mengambil tema “Social Security Policy, Comparative Study Between Indonesia & USA“. Dalam kesempatan tersebut, Wulan memaparkan beberapa hal terkait dengan studi kasus yang ada di Indonesia dan USA.
Berdasarkan sumber dari cbpp.org, yaitu Pertama, Social Security Policyis more than just a retirement program. It also provides important life insurance and disability insurance protection. Kedua, Social Security provides a guaranteed, progressive benefit that keeps up with increases in the cost of living. Ketiga, Social Security provides a foundation of retirement protection for nearly all people in the U.S. Keempat, Social Security benefits are modest. Kelima, Children have an important stake in Social Security. Keenam, Social Security lifts millions of older adults above the poverty line. Ketujuh, Social Security is the biggest source of retirement income for most retirees. Kedelapan, Social Security is particularly important for people of color. Kesembilan, Social Security is especially beneficial for women. Kesepuluh, Relatively modest changes would place Social Security on sound financial footing.
